October 8, 2013 Speaker Jed Baker

Dr. Jed Baker, an expert in social skills training will be presenting on two topic areas: “Programs to Reduce Bullying and Isolation in ASD Individuals” and “Key Components of Effective Social Skills Training” as well as leading panel discussion on the “Implications of Changes to the DSM and the Asperger Syndrome and ASD Diagnosis”.

Jed Baker, Ph.D. is the director of the Social Skills Training Project, serving individuals with autism and social communication problems. He also directs social skills training for Millburn Public Schools in New Jersey and is on the professional advisory board of Autism Today, ASPEN, ANSWER, YAI, the Kelberman Center and several other autism organizations. In addition, he writes, lectures, and provides training internationally on the topic of social skills training and managing challenging behaviors. He is an award-winning author of many Social Skills Training books. His work has also been featured on ABC World News, Nightline, the CBS Early Show, and the Discovery Health Channel. October 9, 2013 Speaker Rudy Simone

Rudy Simone is the author of four best-selling and influential books about Asperger Syndrome (AS) and Autism Spectrum conditions. Aspergirls: Empowering Females with Asperger Syndrome; Asperger’s on the Job: Must-have Advice; 22 Things a Woman Must Know If She Loves a Man With Asperger Syndrome and 22 Things a Woman with Aspergers Wants her Partner to Know. She will be presenting on all of these topics on October 9th.

Her website, www.Help4aspergers.com,is one of the top resources in the world and contains the first “Table of Female AS Traits” created by Ms. Simone and now widely used by doctors. Ms. Simone has been interviewed by several major publications including the New York Times, and has presented at major conferences all over the world. She is also a screenwriter, video producer, recording engineer, comic and singer/songwriter with an album called Gothic Blues to be released in 2013, which features an all-aspie/autie cast in the video for Take Me Back Home and which will be debuted at the reception October 8th.

 

October 8, 2013 Artisan Evening

Joins us after the first Evening of the conference for our wine and cheese reception to celebrate local artisans on the autism spectrum as well as their allies.  The evening will also be a great place to network within the ASD community.

The reception is included in your registration fees.  If you would like to attend the reception without attending the conference the fee is $20.
